I’ve worked on over 400 translations this past year alone. Some were very short (e-mail, cover letter, product description), others quite long (entire websites, research papers, or movies). Here are a few examples to illustrate the breadth of my services.
Translation of a Paralegal Services website (English to French)
Claire Joseph is a Paralegal based in Ottawa, Ontario. She provides legal services in diverse areas of the law but focuses more on immigration. Her cabinet contacted me to translate their website from English to French. Although I specialize in European French, I have worked on many successful projects with French Canadian businesses and I’m still learning about the subtleties of Canadian French.
Translation of a an employee management website/app
Connecteam is an employee management app that connects everything a business needs from field to office, all in one place. I translated both their website and their app content (over 50,000 words) from English to French. The project was challenging because I was using their translation management platform, meaning I had to translate one string at a time, often lacking context so there was a lot of back and forth to get things right.
Translation of a wholesale catalog (English to French)
Cocktail Bomb Shop is a company from Montreal, Canada. They have taken Tik Tok by storm with their proudly handmade cocktail bombs. They strive to deliver a great tasting product that is both fun and environmentally friendly, using high quality and natural ingredients.
I translated their entire catalogue from English to French.
Comic book translation (English to French)
I worked with Michael Varner, who wrote and produced Division 6. The hero, Seth Banks, is the black American James Bond – a super-spy and super-genius in cryptology, economics, and languages that works with Division 6 in secret. I enjoyed working on this project because the dialogues would alternate between formal and street-talk, which is quite challenging to translate. Here’s an example with 2 pages in English, followed by my translation.
Kickstarter campaign for board games (English to French)
In March of 2021, I translated the following Kickstarter campaign for 3 separate board games. I had not played that many board games since my teenage years so this was a refresher course for me. Quite a fun project!
Genealogy translation (French to English)
I have worked on a handful of genealogy translations (all of them from French to English). This project involved a dozen parish records from the 1800s. In France, we’re taught to write in cursive from a young age, but deciphering these documents was really time-consuming. On the right handside, you can find my transcription, as well as the English translation below it.
They trust my work
Without the trust of my customers, I would not be able to pursue my passion. Here are a few whom I’d like to thank.
